Is Jacksonville A Nice Place To Live? 5 Reasons You Will Love It!!
1. A Big City with A Small Town Feel
If you asked around about Jacksonville FL then you have probably already heard this one. Maybe it is being located in the South where everybody is friendlier. Maybe it is the Florida weather that makes people appreciate their surrounding more. Maybe everybody here knows how to "stop and smell the roses" instead of wanting to rush at 100mph when there is bumper to bumper traffic. Who knows? But everybody who has moved here says how they love living here with the friendly people. Thus the small town feel.
In fact, being a local myself, I have seen many people I grew up with be pulled to others by family and jobs. But many came back because they know Jacksonville is such a great place to live!
But wait there is more, we are a big city. Land wise, we are the largest city by area in the continental U.S. Or put this way, google says Miami is 55 square miles. Jacksonville is about 875 miles. But more importantly with all that space comes with a ton to do.
So come visit and see a NFL Football game, a Broadway play, an amazing zoo, many wonderful museums, big name concerts as various venues around the area, the symphony, minor league baseball & soccer plus more.
And like any big city we have big business: the ever expanding Mayo Clinic, Amazon, Fidelity, CSX, Johnson & Johnson, Florida Blue and more.

For example, you want a waterfront property. In Jacksonville you can choose between the ocean, river and intracoastal. That means there is a range of prices and property types such as homes, condos & townhomes that would work for you. So if you are fisherman, boater, skier, sail boater, etc then there is a property here for you!
Or if you are a golfer then you have many, many choices. Let me say that again. Many, many, many choices. Let's take Ponte Vedra Beach. Our country club city. In a small 7 mile long, 3 mile wide area you have 7 golf courses! But it's gets better. There are golf courses spread out throughout the Jacksonville metro area at various price ranges and with various additional amenities.
We have new homes. Not just a few new homes. But a lot of new homes since we have plenty of land. (Please note there are more further out from the older developed areas). So unlike other areas, a lot of new construction is competitively priced with our resale homes. So if you want something brand new then we have it for you.
As stated before we have land. So if you want to build your ranch, horse farm, private estate, etc. You can do it here in Jacksonville FL.

3. Jacksonville's Location Can't Be Beat
I have talked about how wonderful it is living here. But it gets better. It is so easy & wonderful to leave. What?
You are located in the Northeast section of Florida where I-10 and I-95 meet. So that means you have easy highway commutes for a weekend away. Try Savannah GA in 2.5 hours to north or Orlando & Disney World 2.5 hours to the south. Or an easy to get through international airport with direct flights to New York, Las Vegas & more! Or if you are more into the cruising lifestyle you will be happy to hear we have a cruise line that goes right out of Jacksonville!
4. Jacksonville is The Place For Outdoor Sports
Ok you are in Florida. You have sunshine and mild winters so you can be outside year round. So that means you will play golf year round. You will hop on your bike and go up and down the beach or in large groups with your friends year round. Or stay on your own two feet and walk trails, sidewalks or even run your marathon (if you like to torture yourself. ... I mean push yourself) year round.
Take your pick from a number of water sports. Surfing at the beach. Deep sea fishing in the ocean. Boating and Skiing in the Intracoastal and River. Kayak and paddle boarding are very popular and with public parks having launches and beautiful scenery.
5. Florida Weather
In Jacksonville I believe we get the best of both worlds. It's sunny and warm but not as hot as South Florida. We are on the ocean and get a sea breeze.
This mean our winters are more mild but again better than South Florida since we do get cool weather!
Summer starts in May with highs of 84 degrees. We are start cooling off on Halloween where the low usually drops to 70 degrees or below for the first time. December can be cold one week (57 degree average) and the next week warm enough to play on the beach!
