The Plantation at Ponte Vedra Location

The Plantation at Ponte Vedra Beach is located at the southern portion of Ponte Vedra Beach "proper". This means you are further away from Butler Blvd and thus may have a extra 5-7 minute commute. The good news is that you are just minutes from The Plantataion at Ponte Vedra private beach club with pool, bar and park area.

The Plantation is a gated golf community with a 18 hole course designed by Arnold Palmer with 579 homes when completed (close to 90% completed). What makes the community unique is

1.  Every room has a tile roof
2.  Every homeowner is an equity member in the fitness, tennis, golf and ocean club
3.  There are no condos

Most people think the neighborhood has a "South Florida" feel with tile roof and manicured lawns. There is a 4000sf Beach House with junior Olympic pool, deck area and walk way down to the ocean. Plus there are great events and dining at the 25,000 square foot clubhouse. There are also 4 lighted Har-Tru tennis courts. However, what may give you pause is the $40,000 imitation fee ($20,000 currently is equity) on top of the purchase price and the hoa dues which come out to be around $1000/month. This makes sense if you are golfer and are going to join a beach club. After all, only homeowners can play on the course and it is a great way to meet your neighbors!

You are either on a "normal" lot here or on a "garden home" lot that includes a $250/month fee for lawn maintenance. Most homes have golf views but you can also find views of the lake or woods if you want more privacy.
