Catch a bit of the History of the Arts in Mandarin Florida

The famous author, Harriet Beecher Stowe, loved Mandarin Florida so much that she came for a visit - and stayed! Mandarin formed the basis for her book Palmetto Leaves, the story of lazy Florida life in the late 19th century. If you're more into rock and roll, you'll find that Allen Collins of the Southern Rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd also loved Mandarin enough to settle down and stay.

In 1968, Mandarin merged its government with the city of Jacksonville, giving residents all the amenities of the big city and its infrastructure, while still maintaining its air of lazy southern days and nights.

Take your choice of literature to the beach, and relax! Mandarin offers plenty of choices.
Economics and Industry
