Orangedale is currently a more rural area of St. Johns County on the northwestern side. Located on the beautiful St. Johns River and characterized by large lots and beautiful oak trees. You do have access to I-95 up Country Road 210 or you can head into Jacksonville going north on SR-13. We are seeing new communities come into this area and we expect more to be coming.

While you may find Orangedale on a map most of the locals will refer to this area as Northwest St. Johns County, St. Johns or Julington Creek Plantation; a town-village built nearby.

Being that only a small percentage of the population (8.42%) is over the age of 65, buying an Orangedale property for sale would be ideal for younger couples or families with children.

Things To Do In Orangedale, Florida

With a year-round mild temperature, Orangedale, Florida is an ideal place to enjoy different types of outdoor activities. For example, you may find yourself in St. Augustine, the nation's oldest city, for activities in the historic district, complete with cobblestone streets.

There are also golf and country clubs just a stone's throw away, as well as large shopping malls, pubs, nightclubs, coffee shops, and boutiques to peruse at your leisure.  If you want to head downtown for a more exciting night on the town, you are only forty minutes away from the fun and festivities.

Parks & Recreation

There are currently six parks listed with the Parks & Recreation department for the northwest part of St. Johns County. These are Alpine Groves Park, Julington Creek/Plantation Park, Mills Field, Switzerland Pointe Park, Trout Creek, and Turnbull Park.

These are Aberdeen Crossing Park, Durbin Crossing Park, Aberdeen Regional Park, Rivertown Park, and Rivertown Waterfront Park. These parks include facilities for all kinds of sports including baseball, basketball, and tennis. There are picnic shelters and pavilions for an intimate family meal or a large gathering. With so many parks to choose from, you are sure to find one that is close to your new home in Orangedale. There are also several boat ramps and fishing piers at various locations throughout the county. When you live in a place with such beautiful scenery, it is almost impossible to stay indoors!

Traveling From Orangedale, Florida

Like most people, you may need to travel from time to time. Whether for business or pleasure, the Jacksonville International Airport is just a quick forty-five minute drive from the Orangedale. The airport is just eighteen miles north of downtown Jacksonville where fourteen major airlines operate. With so many airlines offering over 200 flights per day, you are sure to find a good deal on travel when necessary. This airport even has the Haskell art gallery to peruse while you wait for your flight.
