Edward Waters College
This is a 4 year liberal arts school with approx 750 students. Known as the oldest predominant African American private institution in the state of Florida.
Flagler College
Named after Henry Flagler that brought the railroad to Florida, this school is located in St. Augustine. It is a private 4 year college with around 2,500 students. They have liberal and pre-professional programs with 25 majors. It is known for being hard to get into due to the popularity of the school.
Florida Coastal School Of Law
No lawyer jokes please! This fully accredited ABA school is one of the newer schools to our area.
Florida State College at Jacksonville
Formerly known as FCCJ this was converted into a 4 year college in 2009. The school has a couple campuses around school and more than 80,000 students. So it is definitely one of the most popular schools in town.
Jacksonville University
4 year private college was founded way back in 1934. With more than 3,000 students and 70 majors and minors, “JU” is a popular nationally known college.
Jones College
If you thought JU was old you will be surprised to learn that Jones College was founded in 1918! This smaller college with around 400 students is known for their career training and online classes.
University of Florida
Ok this isn’t in Jacksonville, but in Gainesville. But it is really 2 – 2.5 hours away depending on where you live. If you are looking for a large school with a football team but you don’t want to be too far from home then this is it.
University of North Florida
Yes this is in Jacksonville. A full time 4 year university that also has masters and doctoral programs!
