Northeast Florida > Clay County Real Estate> Orange Park Real Estate
As far back as the 1780's there has been a community in the Orange Park area. Originally the area was known as "Laurel Grove," a name coined by William and Sarah Pengree. This couple had received a land grant from the Spanish Governor, who was the overseer of the area at the time. Eventually the land passed into the hands of one Zephaniah Kingsley, who established a model farming community which thrived here for a decade.
