Heavy rain leads to San Marco flooding.

Repeated Northeasters have led to some of the heaviest rain for some time.

As of last accounts over six inches have fallen which has led to streets & sidewalks being under water.

The good news is once the rains stop locals report that the it drains away pretty steadily.

Dan Scanlan from the Times Union reports that stores in San Marco Square had water up to their door.

Unfortunately, the stores luck didn't hold.  Cars running on San Marco Boulevard would push the water inside.

The rain not only put shopping and dining in San Marco Square on hold; but of a more serious note Nemours Children's Clinic was shut down.

According to the National Weater Service, the previous storm from two weeks ago dumped up to 8 inches of rain in the Jacksonville area.

San Marco is currently going under road renovations.  We can hope that this solves the problem.

On the a good note, this has not put a damper in the high desirability of the San Marco homes for sale.
