Jacksonville Planning Commission Approves Plans For New Subdivision
New Construction
The Jacksonville Planning Commission has approved plans for a new subdivision entitled "James Flats", which will be located off of Stanton Avenue. James Flats is a total of 2.2 acres and will be home to thirteen new townhouses and a new community pond. The subdivision will be owned by Kenneth James.
Some Protest The New Community Pond
Residents of a nearby community called ‘Greensview at Stoneybrook’ did protest the pond that will be put in at James Flats, fearing that once the new buildings have been put up and the parking lots have been paved, it will not be able to contain the excess run-off. This could potentially cause a back-up problem with the community’s sewage system. The City Planner, Lynn Causey, has addressed these issues and believes it will not be an problem as some have feared. Precautions will be taken to ensure this and elevations have even been measured which determined that any excess run-off will flow into the streets and not into neighboring communities or the sewage system.
