Important Rules to Live by When Selling your Home
Seller
Although each seller is different, and each situation certainly is, there are a few, basic rules to live by when selling your Jacksonville home:
- Stay Involved – Don’t just hand over the reigns to a real estate agent and hope he or she is doing a good job. Remember: it is your home and the responsibility ultimately begins and ends with you, so don’t feel uncomfortable asking for weekly updates from your real estate agent. You have the right to remain involved in the home selling process, and you certainly have the right to be informed of any and all happenings related to the sale of your home.
- Stay Positive – Staying positive can be downright difficult to do when interest on your home has waned, and offers aren’t exactly pouring in. It is, however, essential, that you remain positive throughout the experience, as a bad attitude will get you nowhere fast. Instead of bemoaning the fact that you haven’t had a decent offer, make it a point to get together with your agent to discuss a possible change in direction needed to begin picking up the pace.
- Stay Informed – Staying informed, which falls along the same lines as staying involved, is a crucial part of selling your home. For example, do you know which marketing strategies your agent is using to sell your Jacksonville property? Do you know how many people have inquired about your home or have viewed your home, and what their feedback was? If not, then it may be time to become more involved in the home selling process.
- Stay Motivated – There are several ways to stay motivated and remain motivated throughout the home selling process. Consider ways in which you can improve your home through staging or upgrading, or make a point to ensure a great open house by cleaning up, lighting candles and arranging fresh flowers. It is up to you to become a major player in your home selling process: so get involved, get motivated, stay informed and, most of all, remain positive!
